I am the owner of Luna Dea Birth suite and Mamasaurus. I have been working in birth work for over 7 years and during this time I have learnt that there is an opportunity for women to experience a birth that is transformative. Physiologic birth is an experience unlike any other and I believe offering a space that promotes physiologic birth will support families in reaching their goals.
As someone who has traveled to Edmonton to use a birthing center I felt it was time for Fort McMurray to have one of its own!
Using all of my experience in birth I have created a space that birth dreams are made of!
The space
How we support birth physiology
The space was created with comfort, safety and body mechanics in mind.
You will have full access to all birth aids. These include:
*Slings from the ceiling for squatting, pulling, hanging, swinging. There is one above the pool, one in the "labour room" and a portable one.
*Balls of different sizes as well as a birthing stool.
*Birth pool for labour comfort and water birth.
*A play couch for position changes or resting.
*Sound machine, and blue tooth speaker
*Essential oil diffuser and small selection of oils
*Birth affirmations
*romantic lighting
*Wall bars for squatting
*Comfortable bathroom set up for labouring
Additionally there will be all birth and postpartum supplies included, snacks and drinks, comfortable seating for support people, an "after birth breakfast" and our signature onsie for your new baby!
